Thirlmere House

Thirlmere House was a unique project that presented a challenging brief to R² Studios. The owner builder wanted a home that could be constructed by a single person, using materials that had been gathered over many years from various projects. The team had to be creative in their approach, considering the weight and size of materials and the overall structural integrity of the home. The result is a stunning five-bedroom residence located in the historic town of Thirlmere in Wollondilly, NSW.

The design makes the most of the northern orientation with large living areas and wrap-around verandas that provide much-needed shade during the warmer months. The generous proportions of the house provide ample space for a large family to gather or spend time alone. The unique challenge of this project inspired R² Studios to think outside the box, resulting in a beautiful and functional family home.
